I ordered food from Gourmet Delivery

Brisbane to the sum of $62.80 which was
charged to my visa card. The food was
delivered very late and when it arrived
the fish was room temperature, the chips
were soggy and room temperature, the
salad was room temperature and soggy, the
tiramisu was room temperature and soggy.
The chips were edible as was the inside of
the tiramisu however I was unable to eat
the fish in particular as I am pregnant
and it would be dangerous for my unborn
child if I were to consume food that has
not been kept at the correct temperature
due to bacteria etc.
I threw the scraps into the rubbish chute
before calling to make a complaint. I was
put on hold for 5+ minutes as the
supervisor was very busy I was advised.
The supervisor started abusing me as soon
as he picked up the phone without even a
greeting. He said “your food was delivered
10 minutes ago what are you complaining
about” and I advised that my food was
delivered at an incorrect temperature and
he started complaining to me about how
they don’t have cold bags etc to keep the
cold stuff cold which I said was not my
problem and he said “yes it is” and hung
up on me. I then called back and sat on
hold for 5+ minutes before receiving an
operator, I asked when a manager would be
present as I had spoken to the supervisor
who was incredibly rude and had simply
hung up on me. I was advised that the
rude supervisor was the Manager, in fact
he was the owner. And I asked the operator
to advise him that I would be posting a
review online and to the hotel that I am
staying in to let others know of the
apalling service received.
All I want is a partial refund on my
purchase as half the meal was inedible.
One would think that someone in the food
industry would know the dangers of serving
food that is not at the correct
temperature and would be more sympathetic
to this type of problem. I really wonder
how this company has stayed in business if
this is what other customer’s have had to
endure when making a complaint. I know I
will never use them again.
