We bought a new static from this company 6 months ago and wanted it on a park they have selling rights on (Castle Howard). We bought the van for £44,000, they added a 15% commission fee on top to have it on the park.
We put our home up for sale a couple of weeks ago as we are expecting another baby, this company advised us to put the van up fo £46,000 asking price, they advised us that if it sold for less then we would still have to pay another 15% commission fee on the £46,000 (not on what it sells for). We refused to sign the forms to do this and reluctantly agreed to pay another 15% on the actual sale price.
In between us selling this privately. Castle Howard & Coastline Leisure have tried adding made up fees on to get even more money from us e.g a base fee of £1000, we declined to pay this and asked what this fee was for, when we started asing questions, they waived this straight away.
We sold the van for £27,000, we sold this on the basis and agreement with Coastline Leisure that we would get the money into our account today (as it has to be paid into their account first so they can take out their so called fees). John, the director promised he would be there today to sort it out and send a bacs payment to out account, he has had the money for 2 days, all of the paperwork has been signed and he failed to turn up. We cannot contact him via phone as he has now switched it off and he has left a message with the office to tell us he cant send the money today and he will do it next week. I have called the banks and they advised that there should not be a problem with him doing it today. He is witholding our money from us and is unobtainable on the phone. We are asking our solicitor to go through the terms and conditions of the agreement as this is a rip off company and park. DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE.
